The Super Mutants, Enclave, and BOS were practically shoehorned in. In 3, there's only 2 choices.Īnd even then those two choices were either "good ending or bad ending."

With multiple choices and the vague attempt to try and develop the factions that were there. In terms of Main Story, it feels worse than 4.īecause in 4 it at least seems like they tried. Although Vault 108 was really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ funny. Mainly due to the fact that they (poorly) tried to integrate it into the game. However it has bits of humor that felt even more out of place than Fallout 2's. Whenever I get the urge to revisit Fallout 3 all I can think of is going back to The Pitt, Point Lookout, or even Mothership Zeta.įallout 3 is honestly the most out of place for the Fallout franchise.Ĭompared to Fallout 4 it has a rather dingy and dark atmosphere. I cannot play the game without the DLC as I had way more fun in them than the majority of the base game. The complete edition greatly improves it to an 7.

Without the nostalgia factor probably a 5/10. This is also a problem with New Vegas to a lesser extent. Great detail in the world but severely lacking in diversity. Using explosives, big guns, or unarmed as tagged skills is lame as there very few options. Some genius decided to make experience be modified depending on your difficulty setting which meant you would become overpowered quicker when playing on very hard compared to very easy. World is even more empty than the Mojave but because there's random encounters it tricks the player into thinking the world is jammed packed with life. 75% of locations are like power stations or random ruins with your periodic Quantum, skill books, and crafting items which are beyond useless after you crafted like 2 of each weapon. They get you all pumped up with this sense of urgency but all you do is follow a giant indestructible robot to push a button before the enemies do. Even when I thought Fallout 3 was my favorite game back in like 2012 I was disgusted by the finale. Brotherhood, Enclave, and Super Mutants are shoehorned in (although they made a decent effort as to why the Brotherhood are the way they are in 3). Atmosphere is top notch but is ruined by the geniuses who decided to have the game set 200 years later instead of 20 which would make more sense. Writing has it's moments but overall sucks. Even Fallout 4 (a game I absolutely despise) has a better story.

Story sucks, worst of the main series if you ask me. I have a lot of nostalgia it was my first fallout but.overall it's mixed for me.
